I essentially read this whole article while shouting, "YES, me too!" at my laptop lol. Movie trailers are some of my favorite forms of audience engagement. Solid list, and so glad Alien was mentioned—it's my favorite. I agree, we're all in desperate need of more mystery in film advertising instead of the unexciting stuff we're getting now.

In terms of more modern trailers I've loved, Cloverfield probably tops my list. I remember replaying that to death, just utterly WTF-inducing... I've also got a soft spot for The Social Network, which (if I remember correctly) was the OG "let's use a creepy cover song to emphasize a core theme of our story" movie, lol... But brilliant, pairing Radiohead's "Creep" with our burgeoning/sick obsession with likability and clout. Loved this article!
