I feel pretty similarly—I was so into this film up until the final 30 minutes. (I mean, it's Shyamalan; I knew the risks.) I think Hartnett was fascinating here too, the switches from from Dad Mode to sociopath were wild. He carried it, even when the plot got desperate after cornering itself. The audience I was with was pretty audibly annoyed, lol...
I do love the whole concert setup, I thought it was a fresh place to execute a thriller. Having seen Gaga 4 times and Beyoncé twice, I think he nailed what the live pop experience is in 2024. I'm not sure what I think about Saleka's performance—the film does sort of feel like a covert vehicle for her, but the payoff just feels kind of... eh. I could see this becoming a fun one to watch on streaming now and then.
