Really enjoyed reading this! I agree with your take on bans and problematic depictions in art, but I still can't get behind supporting the work of people who do horrible things in real life. That's really what I see "cancel culture" as: attempting to cut off significant channels of reward or support for people who do bad things. I don't blame studios for taking action accordingly, because it often boils down to the public voting with their money and attention.
